Sarah is a 12-year-old girl who, in January 2018, was diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4 brain cancer, called glioblastoma (GBM).
Over the course of a year, she’s undergone two surgeries, stayed overnight in the hospital two full weeks and has, for increased health risks, been admitted to the ER. She’s completed 34 rounds of radiation, 60 oral chemo pills and 17 I.V. chemo infusions and she’s received nine blood/platelet transfusions, undergone multiple MRI’s, CT scans, XRays, EKG’s and EEGs. She’s visited the infusion clinic over 30 times and has been poked with a needle nearly 100 times.
